I am currently enrolled in my Bachelor of Social Work degree and am looking to complete an unpaid placement with the OCEHT. I have background experience working in the family and child services and in the charity sector. I currently work for a Canadian humanitarian charity working in Dominican Republic and Haiti. I have had the privilege of being apart of the beginning stages of planning a Freedom Centre for female restaveks (household servitude) in Haiti, which has inspired me to continue pursuing a career involving human trafficking. I have completed university social work classes that focus on social policy, counselling, Aboriginal social work and human behaviour. I believe in using an anti-racist, anti-oppressive and feminist ideology that I am eager to put into practice while learning from trained professionals.

I have a passion for ending human trafficking and am devoted to finding a career that allows me to work on the rehabilitation of females who have been victims of trafficking, in particular, sex trafficking. If there is any type of opportunities that the Ottawa coalition could offer me to continue to follow my passion and use my skills I would greatly appreciate the opportunity.
