I am currently an MA Legal Studies student who has 2 years of extensive experience on anti-HT work. Beyond that, I will be writing my MA thesis on systemic barriers that human trafficking survivors face when prosecuting their traffickers in court.

I work as a child protection worker frontline staff member for the Children’s Aid Society of SDG. I have worked with various people who have been trafficked and/or have been a part, big or small, of the power and control wheel for human trafficking or know someone close to them that has. I also work alongside Victim Services and have partaken in trainings for human trafficking, OACAS included.

I work as a Trauma Informed Worker for Ontario Native Women’s Association at the Ottawa office. I provide wrap around services to the indigenous community. As the Trauma informed worker for I Aid Indigenous women who wish to exit oppressive and violent situations. This includes assisting Indigenous women with identifying traumas and related symptoms, safety planning, transportation, and referrals. I provide cultural supports and land based activities as well.

I am a mature student in child and youth work. I live in highly populated indigenous community. Where I live is also, one of the top 5 hubs in Ontario for trafficking. I want to educate people and help. I would love to be a member. This is my passion. I also, have personal experience with exploitation as a child.
